This onion and parsley salad is so light and bright, it makes the perfect complement to any kind of grilled meat. Thatโs exactly how it served in Lebanon, on a platter of grilled Kabobs, Kafta and Shawarma! This salad is very easy to make, and only requires a handful of ingredients. Sumac (Summฤq) is the main seasoning and is found at any middle eastern grocery store. It has a lemony taste and used quite often in Lebanese cooking.
STEP 1
Begin with washing the bunch of parsley. Cut off the stems and finely chop.
STEP 2
Slice your onion into thin slices. If find raw onion to be very strong, you can soak the onion in a bowl of cold water for about 20 minutes to lessen the intensity.
STEP 3
Add the parsley, sliced onion, sumac and salt to a bowl and give it a good mix.
Bon appetite!
