Melted cheese, sour cream, chopped tomatoes, and all your favorite toppings on tasty fries for an easy and quick kid-friendly lunch or snack after school.

I am always looking for quick lunches to make for my family, especially for my daughter after school. These French fry nachos are delicious and so easy to prepare! They use McCain® Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries, made with 100% real potatoes, which cook in half the time* compared to traditional McCain fries. I also used pre-shredded cheese, sour cream and chopped up some tomatoes for freshness.

How to cook McCain® Potatoes

McCain Quick Cook Fries are a favorite in my household. I always have a few bags on hand in my freezer. One reason why I love them is that they are made with no artificial flavors. They are made from natural potato goodness that I am proud to serve my family. I found McCain Quick Cook Fries at my local Walmart but, they are sold at most supermarkets. Faster to Prepare. Easier to Share. These new fries are so convenient for days that I do not have a lot of time to spend cooking. Aside from cooking in half the time*, there is also no flipping required. Instead of baking the fries, you could also cook them in an air-fryer. I find that my air-fryer is faster than my oven so, I would start checking the fries at the 8-minute mark. They come in three different varieties: crinkle cut, waffle cut, and straight cut.

Once the fries are fully cooked, I top them with a combination of shredded cheddar cheeses, some sour cream, and chopped tomatoes since my kiddos love tomatoes. However, these easy French fry nachos are very customizable to your preference. So, feel free to add your favorite toppings.

STEP 2

Top the cooked fries with the shredded cheese and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes or just until the cheese has melted. The waffle cut fries cook a little faster than the straight and crinkle cut, so if you need to remove them from the tray after 10 minutes total cook time, then you can put the other varieties back in for an additional 2-3 minutes if needed.

STEP 3

Top with dollops of sour cream and chopped tomatoes. Other delicious toppings are chopped avocado, scallions, and jalapenos. Enjoy hot!
