Kafta is a Lebanese kebab usually made with ground beef, parsley, onions, and spices. It’s often cooked on the grill or in a skillet for a quick and flavorful dish. This version uses chicken instead, giving you a lighter twist on the classic flavors everyone loves.
Finely chop 1 medium/large onion and ½ bunch of fresh parsley.
Place 1 lb. of ground chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add the chopped onion, parsley, and spices (salt, pepper, & 7 spices)
Add one tablespoon of avocado oil as chicken breast is very lean. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
Form the mixture into patties, finger-shaped pieces, or mold onto skewers to make kebabs.
Skillet Instructions: Add 2 tablespoons of avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken kafta and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side. Add a large, sliced onion and cook for another 5 minutes, until the onion softens. Finally, add a sliced tomato and cook for a few more minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Grilling Instructions: Preheat the grill to medium heat. Grill the kafta for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally to get grill marks on all sides and ensure even cooking.
